As part of our energy saving programme, we will be holding Winter Warmer events, where over tea, cake, soup and a roll we will gather to talk about how best to stay warm in winter, hear your tips for staying warm and well and hear from your ward councillor what the council is doing to help people. Prizes for the best tips, a short quiz and a raffle will also be part of what we hope will be a fun event. These events will take place over three Saturdays – January 13th, February 10th and March 10th and over three mid-week sessions with dates and venues yet to be confirmed.
The first one will take place here at the centre Jan 13th 2017.
At the Winter Warmer we also plan to train the frontline workers before the main event starts so if anyone would like to learn more so that they too can help others, please leave your name at reception for Lydia who will contact you when the office reopens at the start of January 2018. In the meantime, for advice on bills, energy efficiency and government help and support available contact the Energy Saving Advice Service on 0300 123 1234.
