Mix and Mingle

Just want a cup of tea and a chat? Want some friendly company? Our social sessions are fun and engaging allowing you to connect with new people who we hope will become friends.

The Goodrich Club

The Goodrich Club is a social club with chat, bingo and charity donating. £8 for a year’s membership or £1.50 per week. Every Monday from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, Southwark Pensioners Centre, 305 – 307, Camberwell Road, London, SE5 0HQ.

The Monday Men’s Group

The Men’s Group takes place on alternate Tuesdays at the Centre from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.  On the other Tuesdays, there is a chance to go out London sightseeing in the Summer or having breakfast at a cafe or pub.  The Men’s Group is an opportunity for men to have a chat, a laugh and maybe talk about their health issues in a safe and confidential environment. Other activity possibilities are playing pool, darts, board games or watching films.

Outings and Holidays

Outings and holidays have been very popular with members and users.

Getting out in the fresh air, visiting new places or familiar places in the security of a group is very appealing to many and places go very quickly. Fortunately, we are occasionally invited to trips to the the Shard or on vintage London Routemaster bus trips, for example.  Members of SPC will be offered first seats.

Since the end of the lockdowns, our day trips are just as popular as they’ve ever been. Each year, we provide around five coach day trips to the South-East coast for an affordable fare, giving you the chance to get out, breath some sea air and make new friends along the way.

(All 2022 day trips have sold out, but there is the possibility of availability due to cancellations. Please ask at the Centre if and when seats are available:)

There will be no Summer holiday this year, but there will be a ‘Turkey & Tinsel‘ style holiday in December.

Eye to Eye Group

The sessions have been put on hold as a consequence of the pandemic restrictions, but we hope to restart them in the near future.
Eye to Eye is a visual impairment group for people aged 50+. We help group members improve access to mainstream activities and improve social inclusion whilst improving your health and well-being. Referrals are open to anyone living within the London Borough of Southwark.
