Energy MOTs

Phone SPC for an appointment about energy advice on 020 7708 4556.  We check that you are paying as little as possible for your energy costs, that you are benefiting from any energy discounts and grants and that you are on the energy register in case of an energy shutdown. We can also refer you to other organisations for an overall energy assessment of your home to help you reduce your energy costs. We also organise group energy clinics which we call ‘Winter Warmers’.

50+ Advice

We offer free, good quality information, advice and guidance to Southwark residents aged 50 and over. Our service is designed to support the 50 plus to solve a wide range of problems and increase their income. We offer help with benefits, debt, housing, consume issues, transport and energy costs.

Our 50+ Advice service is by appointment only and is structured as follows:

Advice sessions by appointment only

Call us for an appointment.  We find out what the problem is, do an initial assessment, provide basic information, advice and guidance or help you to apply for a wide range of less complex benefits and services. Where the problem may take more than half an hour, requires more in depth work, or is more complex, we make a follow up appointment to see an Advisor.

Advice

Our Advisor provides advice on anything that will take an hour or more or on more complex issues on an appointment basis.

Homesearch

We run a weekly session to help you to bid for Southwark council housing.  (Friday morning – by appointment only) All other housing registration or other housing issues are dealt with through our other advice services.

Reaching Out

We plan to work with existing community groups to offer outreach advice and energy talks and training, advice, benefits MOTs, energy MOTs and energy cafes face to face with older people to support them and raise awareness about SPC and other local organisations who can help.
